FireLite products must be permanently marked or etched, indicating testing and hourly rating compliance in accordance with Underwriters Laboratories, Inc.® (UL) Classification Cards. The mark also serves to identify the UL File number for easy reference by the local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) in the field. “Fire-resistive” glass provides the same defense as fire-protective glass and protects further by blocking the fire rated glass price transfer of radiant and conductive heat. “Fire-protective” means the glass defends against the spread of flames and smoke.
Fire glass has many additional features to provide other types of performance as well as fire protection. Comparative testing of E and EW glass demonstrates how quickly radiant heat can cause items on the unexposed side to start smoking and then ignite.
